The ancient T'ang Dynasty capital of China and the home of the legendary Terra Cotta Army. Xi'an historically has been a cultural crossroads, at one time the end of the Silk Road trading routes between the Middle East and China. Traces of that history can be seen even today, particularly in the Moslem Quarter of the city, with its Great Mosque, colorful and aromatic spice markets and food stalls with unusual Moslem specialties. Xi'an's long and eventful history is on display at the Shaanxi Province History Museum, with its unparalleled collection of Chinese antiquities. Two of our tours visit Xi'an.
