Welcome Message From Jasmine

Ni hao! Welcome to Jasmine’s China Adventure Tours, specializing in small group tours of China. Our programs are designed to give you an up-close and in-depth look at this incredibly diverse and dynamic country. Explore rural villages on foot or by bicycle; sample the produce in local farmers’ markets; meet local people in their homes and even savor a home-cooked meal of their regional specialties; not to mention walk atop the Great Wall or sail through the fabled Three Gorges of the Yangtze River—our trips get you “off the bus” and beyond the usual tourist highlights to experience the real life of China in a way few tour groups can do.

For 2010 and 2011, we are offering a wide-ranging program of six guided tours that explore the scenic and cultural wonders of China. Each of these tours highlights a different and fascinating region: the minority people’s cultures and rugged mountain landscapes of southwestern Yunnan Province; Lhasa and the highlands of the Tibetan Plateau (including a trip on the “highest train in the world”); the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River (with a visit to the panda breeding center in Sichuan); the magical karst peak and river landscapes of Guilin; or the stunning Yellow Mountains of Anhui Province. Each tour also features a full sightseeing program in either Beijing or Shanghai, and several include the famed terra cotta army of Xi’an. These tours depart on a variety of dates throughout the year and most are guaranteed to depart with a minimum of two people.

On fixed dates in 2010 and 2011, owner Jasmine Zheng-Behrens will personally guide small groups on a special journey along the “road less travelled” to China’s remote and spectacular northwest provinces. Highlights of this expedition include the spectacular Yungang Buddhist Grottoes, the miraculous “Hanging Temple”, the ancient walled city of Pingyao, and the great Labrang Yellow Hat Monastery in Xiahe, at the edge of the Tibetan grasslands. Please see her “Journey to the (North) West” tour for full details.
